We always do a homecheck on every dog, which is adopted from the rescue, We need to make sure the garden is secure, and the home is suitable for a dog, and that you don't live next to a busy main road, where the dog may be injured.

The adoption process shouldn't take much more than a week to be completed, homecheck included, (this may vary by location).

If a dog has the word Fostering on their Profile , please see 'Fostering an animal' page for more details.

Arnie Foster Me (currently in Foster home)

  • Terrier X
  • Nine years old
  • Male
  • Size medium
  • Requires moderate grooming
  • High energy levels

Arnie is a very sweet looking dog with a soft curly coat like little a little lamb! We have recently given him a trim and as you can see by his photograph, he looks fantastic! He is smashing company for young and old and a real bundle of fun. He really enjoys a cuddle and scratch, especially under his collar and will march his legs in pleasure! He loves to chase a ball but needs work on returning it! This cute little dog looks like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth but has a BAD attitude when in canine company! He will need to be kept on the lead when out and about, but don't let this put you off because he has so many positive attributes as well! He has a sharp terrier mind which is inquisitive and intelligent and requires stimulation. He would enjoy further training as this would keep his brain busy.  It should be said that Arnie loves treats and this is a real advantage when it comes to training. He would like to go to a home with a decent sized garden so that he can run around and burn off some of his energy. He is fine with children but walk time should be controlled by an adult so that he doesn't get into arguments with other dogs. Arnie deserves a special home where he can be given lots of love.

    Archie

·         Rottweiler X

·         Eighteen months old

·         Male

·         Size large

·         Requires minimal grooming

·         High energy levels

Archie is a bouncy chap who was recently signed over to us. His previous owners were unable to keep him as he was kept in the back garden and the neighbours complained about his barking and jumping up. Archie is a very nice dog with lots of youthful energy and enthusiasm and he needs a lot of exercise to keep him happy. He is a friendly and fun dog who walks well on the lead and is keen to please. He is an intelligent dog who needs stimulation and attention to keep his brain active. He is clean in his kennel despite being used to a life outside and would probably adapt well to being a house dog. He is affectionate and enjoys human company. He has been a little unsure of the other dogs here at the Rescue so we have not tried to mix him. Archie loves balls and will engage you in a mad game of fetch where he can leap across the paddock in a couple of bounds! Archie is going to make a fantastic pet for the people who are able to provide him with what he needs and he will reward you with love and companionship.

Description

Bik is a fantastic little dog with bags of character, as with all dogs of this age and breed type Bik will need an owner with the time and energy necessary to input into his responsible development and upbringing.

Bik will need plenty of consistent exercise and mental stimulation in addition to basic training and socializing.

  Bouncer

·         Cross breed

·         Two years old

·         Male

·         Size small/medium

·         Requires moderate grooming

·         High energy levels

Bouncer is a handsome chap who was recently signed back to us. Bouncer is a cross breed and we think that he may be a mix between a Collie and a Jack Russell. He has big pointy ears and cute short legs which give him a really appealing look. Bouncer is unsure of all the noise and bustle of the Rescue and shows that he has a tendency to anxiety. Unfortunately he had bitten his previous adopter on the arm so we are now looking for a home for him with an experienced owner and where there are no children. Away from the kennels he really comes out of his shell and has a permanent huge smile on his face! He is really in his element on the paddock and is fantastic at fetch. He will streak across the field like lightning and dutifully return the ball to you each time! Once he has returned the ball, he will retreat and lie down like a sheep dog! Bouncer needs a sympathetic home where he will receive the calm consistent leadership that he needs. With the right partnership we hope that he can overcome his anxieties and settle to become the happy and balanced dog that he knows he can be.

Bruno 2

  •         Cross Breed
  •      Three years old
  •      Male
  •      Size large
  •      Requires moderate grooming
  •      High energy levels

Bruno is a very handsome hound. He came to live here at the kennels due to unforeseen circumstances and through no fault of his own. He has come from a loving home and has been well cared for. The male staff were unable to get near him. He is becoming much more trusting now and all of our members of staff are able to walk him without a problem. He will need a sympathetic home where he is the only pet and he can receive the tender loving care he needs. Bruno can not go to a home with children. He is a sensitive boy and will need to be treated accordingly. Bruno has a great deal of love to offer and was a model pet in his previous home. He really needs to go back to being someone's pet and live in an environment where he can feel safe. His potential new owner would be advised to come along to the kennels a few times and get to know him slowly. He is a wonderful dog and for the right person, it will be worth the wait.

Don - Oscar

·          Rottweiller

·          2 yrs approx

·          Male

·          Extra Large size

·          Requires minimal grooming

·          High energy levels

Description

When Oscar arrived at the centre he was very underweight, so much so that his bones were visible, as with many of our canine guests Oscar has been a victim of great neglect. Due to his poor condition Oscar has been in temporary home within our foster care program, with the view to improve his overall condition and gain some much needed weight.  By placing him in a foster home we have been able assess his behaviour in more domestic environment & due to this we can give far more information to perspective owners. Oscar is a young Rottweiller & the importance of continual socialisation & training is an absolute must.

Thanks to well balanced diet and regular exercise program, Oscar is now gaining weight at a slow & steady rate. He is completely house trained and does not pull on the lead preferring to walk calmly by your side.
