Important Note

If you are a family with children looking to adopt one of our animals, then please understand that, like your children, all our animals are individual. As such, each adoption will be considered on that basis. Our staff are on hand to advise on the character and suitability of each dog, cat, rabbit or guinea pig!

Whilst the pictures on the website are an excellent guide, without doubt the best way to meet your new family pet is to come up to the rescue and talk to our staff!

You will never feel pressurised in your choice of pet, as we believe that the right home for every animal will come along!

When you are thinking of adopting a dog please consider the following:

  • Is anyone at home for a reasonable time during the days, so that the dog won't be left for any more than 3-4 hours a day?
  • Have you got enough money to afford vet bills now and in the future?
  • Did you know the average dog costs around £900 per year?
  • Have you got a secure garden?
  • Do you have very young children - babies, where a dog may be nervous or feel jealous around the child and is inappropriate till your child is slightly older?
  • Will your dog be sleeping inside or out?
  • Do you realize a dog is for life not just for Christmas?
  • Dogs from the rescue may not always be completely house trained after leaving a kennel environment, and may also need some obedience training!
  • After Reserving a dog at the rescue, there will be a homecheck, to make sure the garden is secure!
  • Do you have any holidays booked in the next few months, if so we would advise you to leave it till you get back from your hols!

Please don't feel intimidated by this list, we would just like to help you decide if you would like to adopt one of our lovely dogs, and we hope to see you soon at the rescue.

Enjoy Looking at the animals!
