Fostering an Animal from NCAR

WHY NOT FOSTER A DOG, CAT OR RABBIT?

The Foster Scheme was set up to find loving homes for the dogs and cats in our care with 'special needs'. Often these animals have been with us for a very long time and may have been passed by as they are old, less attractive or need medical attention. Despite their disabilities, they can make excellent companions and deserve a loving home. We are always looking for people who would consider taking on one of these special animals. As a Foster Volunteer you will be providing a rescue animal a well deserved break from the kennels and the opportunity to live as a pet in your home. These homes can be permanent or temporary depending on the position of the foster volunteer. Through this experience we will be in a better position to rehome the animal permanently as we learn how it behaves in a more natural environment.

Fostering helps to get our animals into a less stressful environment, and it also frees up space at the Rescue for other animals in need. It is a very rewarding role but requires a high level of time, emotional commitment and patience. If you feel you can give that extra special home to one of our more needy residents then we would be pleased to hear from you.
